The upcoming film The People Upstairs has confirmed its December 3rd theatrical release, along with the unveiling of its main poster and official trailer.

The film follows an unpredictable night between two couples—the upstairs pair (Ha Jung Woo and Lee Hanee) and the downstairs couple (Gong Hyo Jin and Kim Dong Wook)—whose seemingly harmless noise complaint turns into an evening of shocking revelations over dinner.

The newly released main poster captures a subtle tension between the two couples. Captions like “The upstairs neighbors who spark unusual noise” and “The downstairs couple shaken by a strange proposal” underline the contrast between the two pairs, setting the stage for a suspenseful and provocative encounter.

The accompanying trailer opens with the downstairs couple, Jung Ah (Gong Hyo Jin) and Hyun Soo (Kim Dong Wook), growing increasingly weary of the nightly noise from above. What begins as a polite dinner invitation quickly shifts when Kim Seon Saeng (Ha Jung Woo) casually suggests, “Why don’t you join us?”—a remark that instantly changes the tone of the evening. As different emotional temperatures clash across the dinner table, the whispered words and loaded silences invite viewers to wonder: “Is this noise—or is it a signal?”

Described as a “sexy movie without sex scenes,” The People Upstairs aims to disarm audiences this winter with its witty dialogue, charged tension, and unexpected turns.

The People Upstairs opens nationwide on December 3rd.
