Moon Sang Min, Kim Min Joo and Lomon have been confirmed as the leads of Netflix’s upcoming fantasy romance drama Beauty in the Beast (working title).

The series tells the story of Ha Min Soo (Kim Min Joo), one of the few remaining werewolves in the world. Raised under her father’s strict guidance to live a fully socialized human life, Min Soo has always suppressed her instincts—until she experiences the one emotion she was never prepared for: an overwhelming, forbidden love. Her world begins to unravel as her long-restrained beastly nature collides with passion for the first time.

Moon Sang Min plays Kwon Hae Joon, a charismatic and seemingly perfect campus senior who hides deep emotional wounds and secrets behind his composed smile. Kim Min Joo stars as Ha Min Soo, a successfully socialized werewolf living among humans, whose only goal is to keep living peacefully without ever hurting anyone again.

Opposite them, Lomon takes on the role of Lee Do Ha, one of the last surviving werewolves on Earth. Isolated by choice, Do Ha unleashes his predatory instincts only when hunting down drug dealers, living as a lone wolf torn between instinct and morality.

Described as a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast, the drama blends supernatural mystery with youthful romance. The script is written by Jin Han Sae, the writer behind Extracurricular and Glitch and the son of legendary Sandglass writer Song Ji Na, while direction will be led by Jin Hyuk, known for Master’s Sun, Legend of the Blue Sea, and The Tale of Lady Ok.

Following his upcoming 2026 KBS weekend drama To My Beloved Thief, Moon Sang Min cements his rising-star momentum with this Netflix casting. Meanwhile, Kim Min Joo—currently filming JTBC’s Shining (literal title)—will join Beauty in the Beast immediately after wrapping her current project.

Lomon, who also appears in the globally popular All of Us Are Dead Season 2 now in production, is set to headline another major 2026 release, But I’m Human Starting Today (literal title), alongside Lovely Runner star Kim Hye Yoon.
