The agency representing KISS OF LIFE’s Julie is threatening legal action over an illegally leaked CCTV video that has embroiled her in dating rumors with VERIVERY’s Kangmin.
S2 Entertainment released a new statement on September 30, announcing plans to take firm action against the spread of false information.
“We recognize that unverified rumors are severely damaging our artist’s character,” the agency stated. “We are currently preparing legal action against the spread of false information, malicious posts, and all acts violating personal rights,” it added, promising to respond “firmly without any settlement or leniency.”
This follows a day of confusion caused by conflicting statements from the two idols’ agencies.
The controversy began on September 28th, when a video was leaked on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The grainy CCTV footage, dated May 7th, showed a man and woman in a private room at a bar, with the woman seen smoking an e-cigarette. Netizens speculated that the pair were Julie and Kangmin.
Kangmin’s agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, quickly denied the rumors, calling them “completely false” and “malicious misinformation.” Combined with additional photos that surfaced, public consensus has leaned toward the man in the video not being Kangmin.
However, Julie’s agency initially gave a vague response, stating, “It is difficult to confirm as it is an artist’s private life.” The ambiguous comment fueled further speculation among fans, prompting today’s stronger legal warning.
