aespa’s Winter captivated global fans at Ralph Lauren’s fashion showcase in New York—but it was the striking man at her side who nearly stole the spotlight.
On September 11th (local time), Winter attended the luxury brand’s event in Manhattan. Fans immediately noticed the tall, sharp-featured man following closely behind her. With his statuesque frame and model-like proportions, he was quickly assumed to be a private bodyguard hired to escort the K-pop star.

Clips of Winter walking alongside the mysterious man spread rapidly across social media and online communities. Comments poured in: “He looks like a model walking with her,” “He could be a celebrity himself,” and “Did they cast their security by face?”
But the viral “bodyguard” turned out not to be security at all. His identity was soon revealed as Nathan Overland, a professional model based in New York.
As speculation mounted, Overland addressed the buzz himself. “Sorry, but I’m not Winter’s personal bodyguard—I was hired by Ralph Lauren,” he clarified. Still, he admitted that the New York event was his first time meeting Winter, and even called the experience an “honor.”
Since coming forward, Overland has seen his social media explode with new followers, many of whom have playfully dubbed him “The Bodyguard.” Still, he’s made it clear he won’t be trading the runway for security work anytime soon—his focus remains firmly on modeling.
