The K-Pop scene has been flooded with news of the hit series K-POPPED on AppleTV. The series’ mission is to combine both top Western stars with Korea’s very best for a one-of-a-kind stage performance that cannot be forgotten. Despite the wondrous performances and star-struck lineup (such as ATEEZ and Megan Thee Stallion) are fans reacting as the producers had hoped?

As expected, the response has been explosively good from both streaming service critics and fans! The Apple TV+ music competition series sported special collaboration stages and behind-the-scenes footage of international pop stars such as rapper Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, and Boyz II Men, alongside leading global K-Pop groups such as ITZY, Kepler, STAYC, ATEEZ, Black Swan, and Kiss of Life. The fantastic renditions of hit songs like “Savage,” “Wannabe,” “Waterfalls,” and “Motown Philly” gained immense popularity with fans who now wonder if these versions will be available for streaming later.

Some pairings, like Kylie Minogue and ATEEZ were met with great respect and satisfaction while artist appearances like Vanilla Ice were met with confusion and mixed response. Here are some comments from viewers both at home and abroad. IMDb claimed, “K-POPPED is a program that wonderfully combines K-Pop with star musicians from around the world. The collaboration stage is lively and catchy, perfectly blending different cultures.” The company also highlighted the trend that Korea has become stating, “The show introduces Korean culture through the cast having a good time while also capturing the musical aspect, giving you an experience like traveling around Seoul.”

Fans on Twitter shared honest opinions saying, “Whoever recruited Vanilla Ice should be fired,” “So far my favorite K-Popped performance was Taylor Dane’s Tell It To My Heart,” and “Also, because of the show K-Popped I am newly interested in Black Swan and I would definitely go to their concert if they came to my state.” Some fans even gave their two cents of what they’d want to see from a possible future season saying, “I think Fifth Harmony should be K-Popped by TWICE for Season 2.” See some of the comments below.
