BTS member Jimin’s label Big Hit Music has issued its first official statement regarding the long-running dating speculation between the global star and Song Da Eun.
In a press release issued on August 31st, the company explained its stance: “Out of respect for Jimin’s private life and the individual involved, we have refrained from making any comment. However, due to a surge of speculative reports and unfounded rumors, we are left with no choice but to clarify the minimum facts.”
The label confirmed both the romance and the breakup: “The artist once shared mutual feelings with the individual and got romantically involved in the past. However, that was several years ago, and they are not currently in a relationship.”
Big Hit Music also urged restraint, asking the public to avoid “reckless speculation” about the singer’s personal life, and stressed that any actions harming the other party named in the reports should be avoided.
Rumors about Jimin and Song Da Eun first sparked in 2022 after Song posted content on social media hinting at a possible relationship. She later faced ongoing scrutiny and backlash from Jimin’s fans, responding at times through livestreams and posts.
For years, Jimin and his agency remained silent on the subject. But controversy reignited recently when Song shared a TikTok clip that appeared to show Jimin’s face and voice inside what was presumed to be his home. The video added fuel to the rumors—ultimately leading to Big Hit Music’s confirmation that the two had once dated, but ended things long ago.
