On August 25th, the latest episode of Shin Dong Yeob’s YouTube channel “Zzanbro” featured Jung and Cho Yeo Jeong, promoting their new film Murderer Report.
During the conversation, Jung revealed that he deeply admires Lee Byung Hun, whom he worked with on Our Blues. “I was suddenly cast in the drama,” Jung recalled. Host Shin Dong Yeob chimed in, noting that Jung played Shin Mina’s ex-husband. Jung confirmed: “That’s right. At the time, my former agency told me, ‘You’re Shin Mina’s husband.’ I only received a few pages of the script for my own scenes. One of them had me clashing with another man—it turned out to be Lee Byung Hun. I agreed to join without hesitation.”
Filming, however, came with challenges. Jung caught COVID-19 during production, delaying his shoot—unfortunately, the very scene where he was supposed to meet Lee Byung Hun. “I was devastated,” he said.
He also confessed to being a bit starstruck. “I brought one of Lee Byung Hun’s books to set, and my heart was pounding. I ended up asking for his autograph,” Jung admitted. Cho Yeo Jeong laughed, chiming in, “He loves him. Isn’t it funny for an actor working on the same project to ask for an autograph?”
But one memory in particular stuck with him: “My friends cursed me out like crazy. They said, ‘Who are you to get angry at Mina for not cleaning up?’” Jung laughed, recalling how his friends jokingly turned on him.
Shin Dong Yeob teased, “Between friends, I’m sure the words were a lot harsher than that.” Jung agreed with a laugh: “That’s exactly what they said. They swore at me, saying, ‘Who the f*** are you to yell at our Mina.’”
