The Glory star Jung Sung Il revealed that he was still working a part-time delivery job for e-commerce company Coupang even after the series became a global phenomenon.
The confession was made during his guest appearance on talk show Moo No Plan, set to air on August 22nd.
In the episode, Jung Sung Il joins hosts Jeon Hyun Moo and Kwak Tube for a food trip to Daebudo Island. Concerned that the actor had lost weight (dropping to around 145 lbs), the hosts treated him to a local delicacy, croaker fish, known as a summer health food in Korea.
During their meal, Jung Sung Il opened up about his difficult journey as an actor. He shared how he dropped out of college as a freshman, moved to Seoul with no plan and started working in the city’s theater district.
When asked how he endured his long years as an unknown actor, Jung confessed, “I tried every part-time job that involved driving. I was still doing part-time work for Coupang even after The Glory.”
Jung Sung Il’s full story can be seen on the episode airing tonight at 9:10 PM KST.
