Disney Plus has dropped the main poster and trailer for its original series Tempest, teasing an epic scale and a roster of standout characters.
The series follows Moon Ju (Jun Ji Hyun), a UN ambassador who has built an international reputation, as she investigates the forces behind an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. By her side is San Ho (Kang Dong Won), a shadowy special agent with no nationality, who makes it his mission to protect her.
The poster captures the striking visuals of characters caught in the storm of truth behind the shooting. Meanwhile, the trailer raises anticipation with a look at the massive scale of the story, as hidden threats close in and characters inch toward a dangerous truth.
As Moon Ju declares her presidential candidacy to uncover the truth, she becomes entangled in perilous incidents that put her life on the line. After first encountering her at the crime scene, San Ho decides to stay by her side, offering, “Hire me.” Moon Ju, still wary, presses back: “Can you follow my orders no matter what?” At the same time, National Intelligence Service director Yoo Un Hak (Yoo Jae Myung) issues a sharp warning: “Be careful of this man.” These moments hint at a gripping espionage romance, raising the question of whether trust or suspicion will prevail.

The stakes escalate as the threat of a conflict that could spark World War III creeps closer to the Korean Peninsula. Key players step into the fray, including Anderson Miller (John Cho), a U.S. State Department deputy assistant secretary desperate to change the storm’s course; South Korean president Chae Kyung Sin (Kim Hae Sook), striving to fulfill her duties from the highest office; Im Ok Seon (Lee Mi Sook), the powerful chairwoman of Asum Shipping who holds sway over the nation’s political and business worlds; and prosecutor Jang Jun Sang (Oh Jung Se), whose presidential ambitions pit him directly against Moon Ju.
As global tensions mount, the real mastermind behind the chaos remains unknown. In the trailer, Moon Ju’s voice cuts through: “If there’s a script behind all of this, I’ll uncover it.”
Tempest will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus with three episodes dropping September 10th, followed by two episodes weekly starting September 17th, for a total of nine episodes.
