K-pop superstar G-Dragon and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk are under police investigation following accusations that they stole a composer’s song for a G-Dragon concert album released over a decade ago. YG Entertainment is pushing back hard, calling the incident a simple “clerical error.”

The lawsuit filed last November by a composer alleges that YG took his song “G-DRAGON,” which he registered in 2001, renamed it “My Age is 13,” and included it on G-Dragon’s 2010 live album, Shine a Light, all without permission or credit.

YG Entertainment denied the claims, stating that the issue was a simple mix-up. According to the agency, staff confused the composer’s song with a different G-Dragon track that happened to have the same title during preparations for G-Dragon’s 2009 concert. “There was absolutely no intent to infringe on copyright,” the company said in a statement. “If there was a labeling error due to confusion, we will diligently clarify the matter.”

The matter has escalated into a serious criminal investigation. Seoul police have now raided YG Entertainment’s headquarters twice and are currently analyzing seized materials while questioning company officials. “The investigation of related parties is ongoing,” a police source confirmed.
