Girls’ Generation member Kwon Yuri shared a frightening experience of a horse riding accident on Jeju Island.
On August 11th, the singer and actress uploaded a video to her personal YouTube channel capturing the dramatic incident.
In the video, Kwon Yuri is seen enjoying an outdoor ride with her coach when her horse suddenly steps into a deep hole and she falls to the ground. While the surprised production crew rushed to her side, Kwon Yuri calmly said, “I’m okay.”
“It was my first fall,” she later explained. “The horse suddenly stepped into a deep hole, and I was scared and couldn’t hold the reins tightly.” She added that she feels perfectly fine despite hitting her back and head.
Kwon Yuri immediately got back on the horse after the accident. “I have to overcome this trauma to be able to ride again,” she said with a laugh. “I actually feel like I understand horses better now.”
Kwon Yuri, who has been riding for nearly 10 years after picking up the hobby with celebrity friends like Jeon Hye Bin, says it’s great for both mental and physical health. Despite the scare, her passion for riding remains unshaken.
“When the horse exerts its power, it feels like riding a Ferrari,” she said. “I was able to relieve stress by running through nature.”
