Claudia Kim will host the closing ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

This year’s closing ceremony is particularly significant, as it will feature the presentation of the newly established Busan Awards. The awards will honor outstanding works from the festival’s first-ever Competitive Section, marking a major step in BIFF’s evolution into a competitive film festival.

With an impressive career spanning both Korean and international cinema, combined with her fluency in English, Kim is seen as the perfect host to connect with the global filmmakers and audiences attending the festival’s finale.

Claudia Kim made history as the first Korean actor to star in a Marvel film with her role in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). She has since become a fixture in major Hollywood productions, including Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018), The Dark Tower (2017), and Equals (2015).

More recently, she has impressed viewers with her roles in the hit K-dramas The Atypical Family (2024) and the Netflix series Gyeongseong Creature (2024). Her powerful performance in the film A Normal Family (2024) also earned her the Best Supporting Actress award at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards earlier this year.

The 30th Busan International Film Festival will run from September 17th to September 26th at the Busan Cinema Center and throughout the city.
