Apple TV Plus has set August 29th as the global premiere date for KPOPPED, a high-energy music competition series pairing top K-pop idols with legendary pop stars for genre-crossing, culture-blending performances. A trailer was released today, giving fans a first glimpse at the star-studded matchups.

The show brings together hitmakers from both worlds—think Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Mel B and Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls, Vanilla Ice, Kesha, Boyz II Men, Kylie Minogue, and more—alongside K-pop groups like ITZY, Kep1er, ATEEZ, Billlie, STAYC, Kiss of Life, BLACKSWAN, and JO1.

Each episode features a K-pop group teaming up with a pop legend to reimagine one another’s biggest hits, like “Savage,” “Ice Ice Baby,” “Wannabe,” and “Motown Philly,” creating bold new performances that blur genre lines. At the end of each live episode, filmed in Seoul, an in-person audience votes for the winning collaboration. Every episode closes with a fiery finale performance by the featured K-pop group.

Hosted by actor-comedian Son Soo Jeong (Servant, Search Party), the series blends live competition with heartfelt artist interaction. KPOPPED spans 8 episodes and will be available on Apple TV Plus worldwide, as well as on Android’s Apple TV app and Korean streamer TVING.

Helmed by executive producers Lionel Richie and CJ Vice Chair Miky Lee, alongside Moira Ross, Megan Thee Stallion, and Greg Foster, the series is co-produced by CJ ENM and Fremantle’s Eureka Productions—bringing together East and West through performance, star power, and pure pop spectacle.
