Koyote’s Shinji is opening up about her relationship with singer MoonOne—and how their love story began.
Appearing on the July 15th episode of SBS’s Dolsing Fourmen, Shinji shared how they first met. “MoonOne came on as a guest when I was a DJ on ‘Singlbungl Show,’” she recalled. “I was promoting my solo song ‘Longtime Love,’ and several male singers were covering it,” she said. “MoonOne DMed me asking if he could do a cover, too.”
Touched by his message, Shinji added, “I was thankful he covered it. I treated all the singers who did to a meal, and MoonOne was the last. After that, we kept in touch from time to time.”
Then came a serious turning point. A few years ago, Shinji had a terrifying experience with a stalker who came to her home, prompting a police response. “He called the police for me when things got dangerous. He helped me out, and we ended up becoming a couple,” she explained.
When MC Tak Jae Hoon asked if she’d received a formal proposal, Shinji admitted, “Not yet. I don’t really need one. We’ve already talked about getting married, but there hasn’t been an official proposal.” Still, she praised her fiancé, saying, “He was the one who brought up marriage, and I said yes right away. He’s an amazing cook.” Despite being younger, she added, “He totally feels like oppa.”
The couple is set to tie the knot in the first half of next year. Although some fans voiced concerns after MoonOne became the subject of private-life rumors, Shinji has shown unwavering faith in her fiancé.
