A production presentation for S LINE was held on July 7th at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. Lee Soo Hyuk, Lee Da Hee, Arin, Lee Eun Saem and director Ahn Joo Young were in attendance.
S LINE depicts a story that unfolds as “red lines,” or “S-lines,” begin to appear between individuals who have engaged in sexual relationships.
Director Ahn Joo Young explained, “Instead of a setting where everyone can see the S-lines, we adapted the worldview so only specific characters can perceive them. We utilized glasses as a device so only certain individuals could see the S-lines.”

Lee Soo Hyuk takes on the role of Ji Wook, a detective with countless S-lines. He shared, “When I first heard about the project, I was surprised — the title felt a bit provocative, and I wondered what kind of character and story it would involve. But I found the original work incredibly engaging and thought-provoking.”
He also shared a funny behind-the-scenes story. “I wore this tiny device on my head for CGI that looked like a Teletubbies antenna. Even in serious emotional scenes, I couldn’t help glancing up at it.”
Speaking about Lee Soo Hyuk’s casting, Director Ahn Joo Young joked that although Ji Wook is a detective, he’s also a character with plenty of S-lines, so she needed someone who could look the part as much as play it.
Lee Soo Hyuk said, “Filming for Queen Woo was happening at the same time, but the characters were different, so I leaned a lot on the director’s guidance. As an actor, I wanted to show different sides of myself. The director entrusted me with a complex role, and I fully dedicated myself to it.”

Lee Da Hee portrays Gyu Jin, a high school teacher who doesn’t have S-lines at all. She commented, “Gyu Jin is warm and quirky, and she’s a loving teacher. I wanted to shed my usual cold image for the entrance scene. So, I tried my best to outwardly express the warmth within.”
She added, “Gyu Jin’s true self gradually emerges as the episodes progress. Please watch to see how that connects with the S-lines. My personal wish is for everyone to watch all six episodes.”

Oh My Girl’s Arin takes on a new acting challenge as Hyun Heup, a girl who has been able to see S-lines since birth. She stated, “Hyun Heup is a character who is gentle on the outside but strong on the inside, so I did a lot of research. This role might feel different from my usual bubbly idol image, but I hope viewers will embrace it.”
Lee Eun Saem plays Sun Ah, a high school student who witnesses S-lines through mysterious glasses. She shared, “My character is bullied at school and has a cool uncle, but a significant backstory is revealed as the series progresses. There’s a transformation where she starts to reveal her emotions when she wears the glasses. Please make sure to watch until episode 6.”
Meanwhile, S LINE garnered significant attention after winning the Music Award at the Cannes International Series Festival in April. Lee Soo Hyuk expressed his feelings, saying, “It was an experience I never imagined. My affection for the project has deepened even further.”
S LINE is a 6-part series and will release two episodes every Friday, starting on July 11th.
