Park Bo Young is opening up about the two very different romantic storylines she explored in tvN’s Our Unwritten Seoul.
In the series, Park Bo Young takes on dual roles as twins Mi Ji and Mi Rae. Mi Ji shares an awkward but sweet first-love romance with Ho Su (Park Jin Young), while Mi Rae quietly grows closer to Se Jin (Ryu Kyung Soo), whose calm, adult-like presence provides her much-needed comfort and stability.
Mi Ji and Ho Su are portrayed as lifelong singles who were each other’s first love but kept missing their timing. “The director kept telling me, ‘You’ve never dated anyone before, only go so far,’ and ‘I need things to be awkward here,'” Park Bo Young explained. “The director was really passionate about the romance scenes—the dropped watch, holding hands, like that. He really knew how to create those fluttery, heartwarming beats without going overboard.”

She added, Jin Young really nailed that ‘I don’t know anything’ acting, and that really helped me a lot. I really owe a lot to the writer, director, and fellow actors.”
While Mi Ji’s love story was filled with endearing awkwardness, Mi Rae’s dynamic with Se Jin offered a more grounded, introspective romance. “There’s more back-and-forth bickering with Mi Ji and Ho Su,” Park explained. “But Mi Rae is someone who’s emotionally weighed down, and Se Jin drops these little comments like ‘Isn’t it okay to fail?’ or ‘You can at least eat strawberries, right?’ That kind of comfort and the way he extends his hand—watching that made me think, ‘Wow, it’d be nice to date someone like that someday.'”
