Ahn Hyo Seop just served up some deliciously unfiltered honesty about his own work, and it’s cracking up K-drama fans everywhere.
In a short interview released by Netflix on June 25th, the Business Proposal star sat down to reflect on his past roles while promoting KPop Demon Hunters, the streamer’s latest animated action-comedy, in which he voices the male lead. But it wasn’t his new gig that stole the show—it was his brutally honest take on his past romantic dialogue.

During the segment, Ahn was put to the test with a game to see if he could recognize some of his most iconic lines from his dramas translated into English.
When he heard, “Do you know what my love for you and this credit card have in common? They both have no limit,” he immediately recognized it as a line from Business Proposal, his hit romantic comedy series.
Another line followed: “If you come any closer, I’m never going to let you go again.” After a short pause, Ahn guessed the same show again—and nailed it.
Then came the unexpected: Ahn said with a chuckle, “No other project that I have had has this kind of corny lines.”
The moment quickly went viral, with fans both amused and delighted by his candor. While Ahn might have called the lines cheesy, viewers made it clear that the charm of Business Proposal—and his swoon-worthy portrayal of Kang Tae Moo—remains completely intact.
