The cast of the upcoming blockbuster Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is heading to tvN’s variety show Amazing Saturday.
Ahn Hyo Seop, Nana, Chae Soo Bin and Shin Seung Ho, the stars of the highly anticipated film, will participate in the June 27th recording of the hit show. As the promotional push for the film ramps up, the cast has been fielding numerous offers from major TV programs and web variety shows, with Amazing Saturday being among their confirmed appearances ahead of the film’s release.
Based on the globally popular web novel of the same name, Omniscient Reader begins when a novel that ran for over 10 years suddenly becomes reality on the day it reaches its conclusion. Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), the story’s only reader, must team up with the novel’s protagonist Yoo Joong Hyuk (Lee Min Ho) and his allies to survive in this now-apocalyptic world.
The film boasts a reported production budget of 30 billion won ($220 million). Directed by Kim Byung Woo of The Terror Live, Take Point, the project marks his first film in seven years. Production is handled by Realies Pictures, the studio behind the blockbuster Along with the Gods franchise. Rounding out the star-studded cast are Lee Min Ho, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and more.
Meanwhile, Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is set to hit theaters on July 23rd.
