New details have emerged regarding Ju Haknyeon’s departure from THE BOYZ and the reactions of his fellow members.
Former entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho released a YouTube video yesterday addressing the allegations. According to Lee, the agency was unaware of the situation until Japanese tabloid Shūkan Bunshun sent a list of questions about Ju Haknyeon’s private life, including inquiries about physical intimacy with Kirara Asuka and an alleged visit to her home. He noted that the tabloid even asked the agency if Ju Haknyeon and Kirara Asuka were in a romantic relationship, given the reported level of intimacy during their meeting.
Following an internal investigation, the agency confirmed that Ju Haknyeon had told acquaintances he engaged in “sexual activity” with Asuka at her home. The agency immediately isolated him from the other members and decided to remove him from the group. Ju reportedly resisted, stating he “won’t leave the group like this.”
Lee also claimed that on May 29th, Ju Haknyeon went drinking with acquaintances after an awards ceremony in Yokohama. They moved to a private room around 4 AM, where Kirara Asuka and other Japanese women joined them. Ju and Asuka were seen getting close during drinking games, allegedly leaving together and spending the night at an undisclosed location. Ju rejoined his agency staff the next day. One woman at the gathering reportedly tipped off Shūkan Bunshun.
Lee also revealed that Ju Haknyeon openly shared details of his intimate encounter with Kirara Asuka with THE BOYZ members. The disclosure reportedly led to strong disappointment within the group and contributed to the group’s decision to part ways with him.
Meanwhile, Ju Haknyeon is now under investigation by the Women and Juvenile Affairs Division of the Seoul Gangnam Police Station. What began as a personal scandal has raised broader concerns about potential third-party involvement, such as brokers. The complainant suggested that staff members, outsourced producers, or Japanese brokers may have facilitated the encounter.
As the police move forward, they are expected to look into whether Ju Haknyeon’s alleged prostitution involved overseas brokers and whether other celebrities were involved.
