While 2NE1 wrapped up their U.S. performance as a trio, it’s now confirmed that absent member Park Bom was actually in Korea, not the United States, during the show.
According to Starnews on the 4th, Park Bom returned to Korea after completing personal schedules in Los Angeles in early-to-mid last month. Although she posted “Park Bom in LA” on her social media on the 21st of last month with photos that suggested she was still staying in the area with other 2NE1 members, she had actually already returned to Korea. The unfortunate timing of that post coinciding with the performance schedule appears to have caused confusion.
2NE1 took the stage at “Head In The Clouds LA 2025” in Los Angeles on June 1st (local time). However, Park Bom’s absence from the performance sparked curiosity among fans.
However, sources confirmed that Park Bom’s decision not to participate had been agreed upon in advance. She reportedly informed the team beforehand that she would be unable to join the LA performance due to personal commitments. With each 2NE1 member currently under a different agency, post–world tour activities have been scheduled with individual flexibility and respect for each artist’s priorities.
Park Bom’s label D-NATION Entertainment also released an official statement via social media on May 28th, confirming her absence. “Due to personal reasons, Park Bom will not be participating in the festival performance,” the company said. “The remaining 2NE1 members will perform as planned and are committed to delivering a meaningful and memorable show for all fans.”
Meanwhile, 2NE1 concluded their world tour schedule with “WELCOME BACK” encore concerts at Seoul Olympic Park’s KSPO DOME on April 12th and 13th.
