Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun opened up about their long-awaited reunion at the Good Boy press conference on the 29th, dishing on their decade-long friendship.
Kim So Hyun first expressed her gratitude, saying, “Ten years ago, when we co-hosted as MCs, he really took good care of me.” She continued, “I always thought it would be great to work with him again, and I couldn’t wait to see him as ‘Yoon Dong Joo’ in this drama.”
Park Bo Gum shared his own feelings of joy, saying, “I’m really happy to be working with her again after ten years.” He then revealed a behind-the-scenes casting story: “I had a chance to meet her at another award ceremony, and at that time, I was already considering ‘Good Boy.’ I remember knocking on her door with the hope of working together, asking her to read the script. I was hoping she would agree to do it, and I’m glad she did.”
The actor continued rooting for his co-star, commenting, “Kim So Hyun fits the character Han Na so perfectly that I hope viewers will fall head over heels for So Hyun’s charm in this show.”
The two actors have an interesting history together. Kim So Hyun gained attention in 2015 for playing dual roles in the KBS drama Who Are You: School 2015, while Park Bo Geum starred in the following slot with Hello Monster, where he played a gritty, darker character.
During a KBS awards ceremony later that year, host Jeon Hyun Moo spontaneously asked them to act out their dark drama characters, creating a tense moment that went viral and sparked “fake news” about the discord between the two stars.
Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum recently got injured during Good Boy filming, which put production on pause. Reflecting on the incident, he shared, “I got a bit too ambitious during shooting and ended up getting hurt, which delayed production. But all the staff encouraged me to eat well, rest well, and take care of myself so I could return quickly. Thanks to everyone’s support, I made a complete recovery in just a month and a half.”
