Male actors born in 1997 are expected to begin fulfilling their mandatory military service starting this year. Notable names such as Cha Eun Woo, Lee Jun Young, Yeo Jin Goo, and Kwak Dong Yeon are either preparing to enlist or adjusting their schedules accordingly, as they turn 27 and fall within the age range for active-duty enlistment in 2025.

Cha Eun Woo has reportedly auditioned for the Army’s military band in preparation for his enlistment. In addition to his work with the group ASTRO, he has built a strong acting career through dramas such as Gangnam Beauty and True Beauty, expanding his fanbase both domestically and internationally. News of his upcoming enlistment comes as a disappointment to fans, given his flawless visuals and steady acting growth.

Lee Jun Young recently shared, “I’m planning to enlist either this year or next. I’m preparing to release an album as a final gift before enlistment.” A former member of U-KISS, Lee successfully transitioned into acting, delivering consistent performances in projects like When Life Gives You Tangerines and Weak Hero Class 2. He also revealed a new side of himself in 24-Hour Health Club.

Yeo Jin Goo mentioned in an interview last year that he was “preparing for enlistment.” He took on a bold new role in the recent film Hijack 1971, playing Yong Dae, a passenger who hijacks a plane mid-flight. Having worked steadily without long breaks, his temporary absence is expected to leave a noticeable gap for fans.

Kwak Dong Yeon has carved out a distinct identity with his versatile acting skills, spanning a wide range of genres. In drama Queen of Tears, he left a strong impression with his comedic yet emotionally grounded performance. Kwak has continued to demonstrate his wide acting spectrum by fully embodying vastly different characters in each project.

While the exact enlistment dates for each actor have not yet been revealed, they are preparing to say farewell to fans through various forms of content. From photobooks and fan meetings to personal YouTube videos, each is working to leave fans with lasting memories before beginning their military service.
