Disney Plus has dropped the main poster and trailer for its original series Nine Puzzles, teasing viewers with a chilling psychological thriller.
The suspense-driven series follows Ena (played by Kim Da Mi), a criminal profiler who was the sole witness to an unsolved case from a decade ago, and Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), a persistent detective who continues to suspect her involvement. Together, they investigate a renewed string of serial killings connected to mysterious puzzle pieces.
The striking main poster captures attention with the sharp, intense gazes of Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku against a backdrop featuring scattered puzzle pieces containing the faces of various characters. What began as a suspect-detective relationship ten years ago has evolved into a profiler-detective partnership as they tackle the resurfaced murders. The powerful tagline “When the puzzle arrives, someone dies” stimulates curiosity about the secrets hidden within both the mysterious puzzle and the characters entangled in the case.
The accompanying trailer builds tension around the serial killings connected to the puzzle pieces. Intersecting scenes reveal Ena in therapy for the trauma of witnessing her uncle’s murder as a high school student, evoking sympathy for why she constantly questions herself.
When a new murder occurs in Detective Han Saem’s jurisdiction, profiler Ena once again becomes a witness. “How can you be the first witness of both murders?” Han Saem’s line reveals his deepening suspicion of Ena.
Meanwhile, Ena receives a puzzle piece that matches perfectly with the only evidence found at the past murder scene. She informs Han Saem, “It’s a serial killing, starting again after ten years,” confirming a connection between the past and present cases. Her final words in the trailer, “Doubt yourself, that’s how you’ll find the answer,” amplifies curiosity about whether the pair will uncover the truth hidden in the puzzle and catch the killer.
Nine Puzzles will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus with a unique release schedule: six episodes on Wednesday, May 21st, followed by three episodes on May 28th, and the final two episodes on June 4th, for a total of eleven episodes.
