Nine Puzzles has confirmed its release for May 21st and unveiled its “Memory of That Day” poster.
Directed by Yoon Jong Bin and starring Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku, Nine Puzzles is a mystery thriller that follows profiler Ina (played by Kim Dami), the only witness to a mysterious cold case from ten years ago, and detective Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who still suspects her as the prime suspect. Together, they delve into the secrets behind serial murders that begin again with the arrival of mysterious puzzle pieces.
The new poster uniquely illustrates the route high schooler Ina took on the night of the murder ten years ago—from the moment she left school until she reached home—as the sole witness to the incident. The poster piques curiosity about what really happened that day. It was created by artist Yeon Yeo In, who previously worked on the special poster for HBO’s limited series The Sympathizer and the animation in Red Velvet’s “Cosmic” music video.
The image of young Ina standing under a flickering light in front of her house, the police car parked down the street and detective Han Saem seemingly trailing behind her—all add tension and amplify the mystery surrounding that night. The dynamic between Ina, who has lost her memory of that night, and Han Saem, who persistently suspects her as the prime suspect, is drawing attention, especially as they now reunite as a profiler and detective instead of suspect and officer.
Nine Puzzles will be released exclusively on Disney Plus, with 6 episodes dropping on Wednesday, May 21st, followed by 3 episodes on May 28th and the final 2 on June 4th—for a total of 11 episodes.
