TVING original series Yumi’s Cells is officially moving forward with Season 3, and Kim Go Eun is expected to reprise her role as Yumi.

An industry insider told JTBC Entertainment News on March 31st that “Season 3 of Yumi’s Cells is finally happening, three years after Season 2 ended. TVING is making a full push to bring it to life, and Kim Go-eun will be back in the lead role. The team is working hard to maintain the unique charm of the series.”

Confirming the news, Studio Dragon, the production company behind the show, stated, “We are indeed producing Season 3. We’ve offered Kim Go Eun the role of Yumi, and she is currently reviewing the offer.” A representative from Kim Go Eun’s agency, BH Entertainment, also confirmed, “She has received the proposal and is considering it.”

Yumi’s Cells is a heartfelt romance drama that follows Yumi’s journey through love, work, and personal growth, guided by the voices of her inner “cells.” The series became a hit for its innovative mix of live-action and 3D animation, capturing the essence of its webtoon original while delivering a charming and relatable story. It has received widespread love both in Korea and internationally.

While Season 2 took creative liberties with the webtoon, Season 3 is expected to introduce “Soonrok”—Yumi’s final love interest in the original story, raising excitement among longtime fans.
