Lee Se Young is set to take on a leading role in The Remarried Empress (literal title).
An entertainment industry insider told JTBC Entertainment News on the 7th, “Lee Se Young will appear in the drama adaptation of ‘The Remarried Empress’.” Previously, news of Shin Mina and Lee Jong Suk joining the project had been reported.
Regarding this, Lee Se Young’s agency, PRAIN TPC, stated, “It is one of the projects she has been offered.”
The Remarried Empress is based on a romance fantasy web novel of the same name, which is also being serialized as a webtoon. The story follows Navier, the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, who chooses divorce after discovering that her husband, the emperor, plans to make his mistress the empress. Resolving that if she cannot be empress in this place, she will become empress elsewhere, she embarks on a new journey.
In the drama, Lee Se Young will play the character Rashta Ishka. She is a runaway slave who was coincidentally discovered by Sovieshu during a hunting trip. Shortly after entering the palace, she becomes Sovieshu’s mistress and is an essential character in establishing the main storyline. Attention is focused on what kind of performance Lee Se Young will deliver with her solid acting skills within this work.
Meanwhile, The Remarried Empress is produced by Studio N and directed by Jo Soo Won, who previously directed dramas I Can Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio.
