New Account Reveals Kim Sae Ron Cried After Receiving Apology From a Journalist
A new account has emerged regarding the late actress Kim Sae Ron and the controversy surrounding her financial struggles.
On the February 19th episode of Channel A’s morning show Happy Morning, a journalist shared an encounter with Kim Sae Ron while she was working at a café. According to the broadcast, the newswriter was served by a polite waitress and later realized it was Kim Sae Ron.
The journalist recounted that he gave Kim Sae Ron a note apologizing for misunderstanding her situation. The note reportedly read, “I also had misconceptions about you. I sincerely apologize and hope to meet you again under better circumstances.” The café owner later stated that Kim Sae Ron went up to the rooftop after reading the note and broke down in tears.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who has been criticized for covering Kim Sae Ron’s private life before her passing, spoke out regarding the controversy.
He began by expressing his condolences to Kim Sae Ron’s family and firmly denied the claim that he had harassed her. Lee explained that over the past three years, he had released four videos about Kim Sae Ron, all of which had been carefully reviewed by Kim’s acquaintances and agency representatives. He added that he made those videos private out of respect for the deceased after her passing.
Lee also released an audio recording of a conversation with Kim Sae Ron’s manager, stating that his videos about her financial struggles and part-time jobs were intended to support her potential return to acting. He claimed that information about her tutoring aspiring actors and working at a café was discussed with her agency before being shared. However, public reaction was largely negative, with some criticizing him for appearing to defend her.
He emphasized that discussions about a possible interview with Kim Sae Ron were even brought up, explaining how desperate the situation had become for her. The audio recording he shared included agency representatives saying, “Shouldn’t we revive her image somehow?” and “Is there anything even remotely positive we can highlight?”
Lee further explained why he chose not to disclose Kim Sae Ron’s new agency contract, fearing public backlash. He emphasized that he deliberately omitted negative details in hopes she would be given another chance.
Defending his past videos, Lee argued that he was unfairly targeted simply for reporting on Kim Sae Ron. He also criticized Garo Sero Research Institute, commentator Kwon Young Chan and certain media outlets for spreading unverified claims and malicious narratives.
