FNC Entertainment has addressed fraud allegations surrounding the mother of P1Harmony’s Keeho, drawing a clear line between the K-pop star and the legal situation.
In a statement released Monday, the entertainment powerhouse clarified, “The case involving Keeho’s mother was filed with the police last year and was initially concluded with no charges. We understand that the investigation has recently reopened following an appeal from the complainant.”
The label emphasized the artist’s distance from the situation: “Keeho is completely uninvolved in this case and has been unaware of how it has progressed. Regarding the mentions of Keeho’s name on the complainant’s social media, the complainant has cleared up the misunderstanding and conveyed his apologies to the artist.”
However, FNC Entertainment maintained a measured stance, sharing, “If the investigation reveals any wrongdoing on the mother’s part, she will naturally have to take legal responsibility. Separately, Keeho, as her son, expresses his sincere apologies to those affected and will do his utmost to help resolve the situation.”
The case stems from March last year when Keeho’s mother was reported for alleged fraud and violations of regulations regarding similar receiving activities. The complainant, identified as “A,” had staged a one-person protest in front of FNC Entertainment’s headquarters.
“A” later took to social media, writing, “Upon reflection, I realize I misunderstood your situation—you couldn’t have known much about the case, yet you sincerely apologized and expressed willingness to find a resolution for the damages,” adding, “I’m sorry and grateful that you made efforts to resolve this issue despite having no direct involvement.”
P1Harmony, a six-member group that debuted on October 26, 2020, features Canadian-born Keeho as their leader and vocalist.
