Hyun Bong Sik and Son Suk Ku appeared as guests on JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2, where Hyun talked about a group photo with his fellow 1984-born celebrity friends, giving a big laugh.
In the latest episode, the actor duo revealed that they bonded over their surprisingly shy personalities. Son confessed, “When I’m alone at restaurants, I’m so shy that I keep my hand raised. If they don’t notice, I wait a bit, lower it, and if they’re too busy to see me, I just go up to order.” Hyun added, “When we go to restaurants, Suk Ku orders for me,” revealing himself to be even more introverted.
Son also drew laughs by sharing, “I’ve always wanted to say this—I can’t bring myself to say ‘auntie’ at restaurants. It felt so awkward calling someone who isn’t family ‘auntie.’ Even now, thinking about it, I still don’t use it.”
The pair grew close while filming Netflix’s D.P. Hyun recalled, “I was the military police commander, and Suk Ku was a new officer. Since we were both officers, I would directly give orders (and we became close).” Son added, “It was awkward at first,” but continued, “We’ve acted together four times now. He’s a cheat key among actors. When things get difficult, people ask Bong Sik to help. They say ‘Bong Sik will save us.'” Hyun playfully responded, “Keep the compliments coming.”
Host Kim Sung Joo brought up a recent viral social media post, showing a group photo from Hyun’s account captioned “They’re making me look good.” The photo featured Lee Jun Hyuk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Kim Yong Jun, Seven, and Simon D striking identical poses.
Kim mentioned some popular comments: “Is it Teachers’ Day?” and “They’re making you look older.” While the chefs tried to console Hyun by saying his looks haven’t changed, he humorously lamented, “They’re getting further away,” drawing laughs from the studio.
