Netflix’s latest Korean medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is setting global viewership ablaze, marking another milestone for the streaming giant’s Korean content lineup.
The series, which follows genius military surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Ji Hoon) as he revives a struggling trauma center, has clinched the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global TV Show (Non-English) charts. According to Netflix’s Tudum TOP 10 website on Wednesday, the show garnered 11.9 million views last week.
Just two weeks after its release on the 24th of last month, The Trauma Code has dominated Netflix charts across 17 countries, including South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Chile, and Peru. The medical drama has also secured spots in Netflix’s TOP 10 lists across 63 nations, including New Zealand, France, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan, and Egypt, signaling a worldwide phenomenon.
The show’s success has sparked a social media frenzy, with viewers flooding online platforms with enthusiastic responses. Fans are particularly vocal about watching the show more than once, with comments like “The story flows so smoothly, and I keep watching it,” and “I’ve already watched it twice and plan another round. Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, and the entire cast’s performances are fantastic, and their chemistry is perfect!”
