Ji Jin Hee and Lee Kyu Hyung are teaming up as a comedic duo. The intriguingly titled KICKKICKKICKKICK follows the story of an actor and a producer who set up a content production company in an attempt to reclaim their former glory. Although the two actors are known for their quirky appearances in variety shows, they’ve primarily played serious characters in dramas. Their bold move into comedy has fans excited to see a new side of them. Let’s hope the series brings genuine laughs without relying on cheesy, over-the-top jokes.
The Scandal of Chunhwa (2/6)
After the success of its R-rated historical dramas Queen Woo and The Queen Who Crowns, TVING is now introducing a fresh take with a youthful romantic historical series. Set in the Joseon era, The Scandal of Chunhwa takes place amidst the city’s excitement over a daring book series filled with bold love stories. The story follows Princess Hwa Ri (played by Go Ara), who decides to take matters into her own hands and find her ideal husband after a failed first love. She finds herself caught between Hwan (Chang Ryul), the city’s most notorious flirt, and Jang Won (Chani), the ideal gentleman. In a time when strict rules kept men and women apart, Hwa Ri’s declaration of free love will bring out Go Ara’s natural charm and add to the anticipation for this lively and captivating drama.
Newtopia (2/7)
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is making her return to dramas following Snowdrop. She’s starring alongside Park Jung Min, with whom she previously worked in the film Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman, in the new drama Newtopia. Based on Han Sang Woon’s novel Influenza, the story follows a young couple navigating through a zombie-infested Seoul as they race toward each other. Unlike the socially critical zombie dramas often seen in K-dramas, this series adds a romantic twist. As Jisoo steps into this fresh and unique genre, it’ll be interesting to see if her return resonates with viewers.

Friendly Rivalry (2/10)
Hyeri is back in a school uniform, but this time, she’s trading her usual bright and cheerful charm for an unshakable, cold charisma. Friendly Rivalry is set in an elite high school attended by the top 1% of students in South Korea, where cutthroat academic rivalry is the norm. The story begins when transfer student Seulgi (Jung Soo Bin) arrives, sparking jealousy, admiration, friendship, obsession, compassion and budding romance among the teens. Hyeri will make a dramatic transformation in her acting by taking on the role of Yoo Je Yi, a genius student admired by everyone.

Buried Hearts (2/14)
Park Hyung Sik is stepping into a fierce money game. Buried Hearts is a revenge thriller about a man who hacks into 2 trillion won worth of political slush funds and stakes everything to bring down those who killed him and the corrupt world they represent. Park Hyung Sik plays Seo Dong Joo, the cold and ambitious head of external relations at Daesan Group. Huh Joon Ho joins as Yeom Jang Seon, an evil mastermind who is behind the hidden truths and chases ultimate power. The setup may remind viewers of Park Hyung Sik’s chaebol heir roles, but all eyes are on whether this brutal revenge tale will succeed.
Melo Movie (2/14)
Melo Movie follows young adults navigating their dreams and love lives while helping each other overcome past traumas. The series promises to deliver a heartfelt story about thirty-somethings pursuing their romantic ideals while dealing with personal struggles. The project brings together Oh Choong Hwan, known for hits like Hotel Del Luna and Castaway Diva, with writer Lee Na Eun, who penned the acclaimed romance Our Beloved Summer. The series features a stellar ensemble including Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young and Jeon So Nee.
The Witch (2/15)
Another webtoon by Kang Full, the creator of Moving and Light Shop, is being adapted into a drama. Titled The Witch, it stars Park Jin Young and Roh Jeong Eui in a mystery romance. The story revolves around a woman known as “the Witch,” who isolates herself from the world, and a man determined to break his streak of bad luck and get closer to her. As Park Jin Young’s first lead role since his military discharge, following the film Christmas Carol. There’s also curiosity about whether a drama adaptation of a Kang Full webtoon can succeed without his direct involvement.
My Dearest Nemesis (2/17)
Undercover High School (TBA)
Just like Park Jin Young in The Witch, Seo Kang Joon is set to return with his first drama after military service. Undercover High School tells the story of a National Intelligence Service agent who goes undercover as a high school student to track down the missing gold bars of Emperor Gojong. Seo Kang Joon is expected to lead the drama with a bright character, blending action and comedy.
