Lee Chan Hyuk of AKMU and former fromis_9 member Lee Sae Rom have ended their relationship, industry sources confirmed on January 21st. The pair reportedly split last year after dating for approximately one year.
The duo first sparked dating rumors in October 2022 when eagle-eyed fans spotted them on dates at an art studio. Social media sleuths also noticed the pair posting photos from identical locations, fueling speculation about their relationship.
At the time, Lee Chan Hyuk’s agency YG Entertainment responded with a carefully worded statement: “This falls under the artist’s private life, making it difficult to verify.” Meanwhile, Lee Sae Rom’s then-agency Pledis Entertainment maintained radio silence on the matter.
According to insiders, the couple continued dating after the initial reports but ended their relationship sometime last year. Given that neither party officially confirmed their relationship, representatives remain tight-lipped about the split.
Lee Chan Hyuk rose to prominence as one half of the sibling duo AKMU (Akdong Musician) alongside his sister Lee Su Hyun. Since their 2014 debut, the duo has churned out numerous hits. Lee ventured into solo territory in 2022, establishing his distinct musical identity.
Lee Sae Rom made her K-pop debut in 2017 as a member of fromis_9 after being selected through Mnet’s survival show Idol School. Her group recently parted ways with Pledis Entertainment in December 2023 following the expiration of their exclusive contract.
