Han Do Woo has addressed his previously undisclosed 2020 cannabis possession case through a handwritten letter posted to his Instagram Stories.

The Unintentional Love Story star, who had continued to work in the industry following a suspended indictment with mandatory education in December 2020, broke his silence after recent media reports unveiled his past legal troubles.

“I have caused great disappointment and concern to many people with the recent incident. When the news first broke, I was overwhelmed with fear and didn’t know how to address this story,” Han wrote in his statement. “At the time, I tried to rationalize my actions with excuses of curiosity, but during the investigation, I realized the gravity of my mistake and have been living with deep remorse.”

The revelation has sparked particular controversy as the actor had maintained an active career in the aftermath of the incident, notably starring in the popular BL series Unintentional Love Story without addressing the matter.

“All my past actions are my mistakes with no room for excuses,” Han Do Woo continued in his statement. “My heart is heavy thinking about how much disappointment and pain my poor judgment and actions have caused everyone. Moving forward, I will live thoughtfully, making choices I won’t be ashamed of, and ensure something like this never happens again.”

The actor’s apology, posted via Instagram Stories, is no longer visible due to the platform’s 24-hour content limitation.
