Jung Yu Mi, the talented actress who captivated audiences with her performance in Sleep, paid a heartfelt tribute to her late co-star Lee Sun Kyun.

The 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards hand-printing event was held at CGV in Yeouido, Seoul, on November 6th. Past award winners from the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards, including actors Lee Byung Hun, Jung Yu Mi, Jo In Sung, Jeon Yeo Been, and Go Min Si, attended the event.

Jung Yu Mi won the Best Actress award last year for her role in Sleep. She shared, “It’s hard to believe a whole year has gone by so quickly; this is my first time attending the Blue Dragon hand-printing event.” She added, “I’m truly honored to be here again because of Sleep. Each day, I just focused on doing my best with everyone’s support.”

She also shared, “I often think about my co-star, the late Lee Sun Kyun,” reflecting on the co-star she performed alongside. When asked about memorable roles, Jung Yu Mi once again mentioned Sleep, saying, “There’s Jo In Young, my character in Blossom Again, my debut film when I was seventeen, and Su Jin, my character in Sleep, which brought me here,” expressing her deep affection for these films.

Jung Yu Mi reached a major milestone at the 2024 Blue Dragon Film Awards by winning her Best Actress award for Sleep. This win comes 17 years after she received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2006 for Family Ties. Sleep is the feature-length directorial debut of Yoo Jae-sun and stars the late Lee Sun Kyun and Jung Yu Mi as a married couple.

The 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be held on November 29 at the KBS Hall in Yeouido and broadcast live on KBS2.
