Park Seo Joon made a candid revelation about his difficult childhood and experiences with bullying during a conversation on singer Sung Si Kyung’s YouTube channel.
In a video released on the 7th, Sung Si Kyung and Park Seo Joon watched the actor’s recently released Netflix series Gyeongseong Creature 2. Park praised his co-star Han So Hee, saying, “Everyone keeps saying she’s so Gen Z, and I mean it in a good way when I say she’s so refreshing. There’s an unpolished, raw energy about her, and I love it.”
However, the conversation took a more personal turn when Park Seo Joon opened up about his younger years. “People might not know this, but when I was young, I was extremely shy and introverted. I could barely speak to anyone—I was what you’d call a ‘triple I’ (referring to MBTI). I was even too embarrassed to place an order at a restaurant,” he confessed.
Sung Si Kyung then asked if, given his height and appearance, Park ever faced bullying at school. Park revealed, “I hated that part of myself until my third year of middle school. I felt like an idiot because I couldn’t speak up. In elementary school, I was bullied a bit, and in middle school, I naturally became one of the quiet kids.”
Reflecting on his journey, Park Seo Joon shared that discovering acting was a turning point. “I had low self-esteem back then, but when I unexpectedly came across acting, it felt like liberation. It was the first time in my life I found something I genuinely wanted to do, so I gave it my all.”
