It seems the full reunion of 2NE1 (CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom, Gong Min Ji) is becoming a reality. The members are reportedly meeting with YG Entertainment’s chief producer, Yang Hyun Suk, to kickstart their comeback project.

According to sources close to 2NE1, all four members have confirmed plans to meet Yang Hyun Suk in the coming days. This follows a recent secret meeting between CL and Yang, held ahead of 2NE1’s 15th anniversary. Now the entire group is expected to discuss their reunion and comeback project with the producer.

2NE1’s reunion with YG, coinciding with their 15th anniversary, carries significant weight. Known for pioneering the “girl crush” concept in K-pop and leading a global wave, 2NE1 remains beloved by fans. The members, who have pursued solo careers since their disbandment, are poised to bring a unique power back to the K-pop scene as a group. Yang Hyun Suk, recognized for his recent positive contributions to YG’s music, is anticipated to infuse fresh energy into the global K-pop industry with this reunion.

2NE1, launched by YG in 2009, quickly rose to fame with hits like “Fire,” “Don’t Cry,” “Lonely,” “I Am the Best,” and “Ugly.” The group dominated both domestic and international charts before Gong Min Ji left in May 2016, leading to their official disbandment in November of that year. Their last album was the digital single Goodbye, released in January 2017.

CL recently celebrated 2NE1’s 15th anniversary by sharing a group photo on her Instagram featuring all four members. This marked the first time the group had shared a photo together since their 2022 Coachella performance. CL reportedly put significant effort into the photoshoot, even sourcing outfits from abroad and working with art director Cho Gi Seok, who collaborated with her on the 2021 single HWA.

In 2022, 2NE1 made a historic appearance as the first Korean girl group to perform on Coachella’s main stage, reuniting after seven years and demonstrating their enduring appeal. Fans are eagerly anticipating the new chapter 2NE1 will write as they reunite under YG’s banner.
