Kim Seon Ho had a remarkable year in 2023, showcasing his talent and solidifying his position as a movie star. He made a successful film debut with The Childe, sweeping awards and receiving critical acclaim. He also won two awards at the 2023 AAA, further cementing his popularity among fans.
Kim Seon Ho is set to continue his momentum in 2024 with a diverse lineup of projects, including The Tyrant, In the Net, When Life Gives You Tangerines and Lost in Translation.
Q: You took the Korean film world by storm with your debut in The Childe last year, practically sweeping all the Best New Actor awards. Despite that incredible achievement, you’ve remained humble, even saying you felt there was still a lot to learn. How did this experience shape you as an actor?
Kim Seon Ho: Honestly, stepping onto the big screen for the first time, I felt there were many areas where my acting could be stronger. It really highlighted the need to keep developing my skills and fill in those gaps. I believe the film was well-received due to the tireless efforts of the director and many staff members. I also think I had good teamwork with director Park Hoon Jung.
Q: You’re also set to star in Disney Plus series The Tyrant, which will be released this year. What can fans expect from your character?
Kim Seon Ho: It’s definitely a departure from what I’ve done before. My character is a bit more reserved, and actually the oldest I’ve played yet. It’s a big shift from the characters I’ve brought to life so far, and I think it carries a lot more weight. I’m really curious to see what audiences think.
Q. You worked non-stop last year, from The Tyrant to In the Net to even a cameo in When Life Gives You Tangerines. Don’t you ever get tired?”
Kim Seon Ho: I think I’m able to keep going because of the fans who support me. Knowing that they enjoy my acting and are cheering me on gives me the strength to work hard and repay them for their support.
