The discussion of a potential pairing of Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee in director Han Jae Rim’s next project, Delusion (literal title), has officially ceased.

Showbox, the co-producer of Delusion, stated on the 2nd, “It is true that there were discussions with the two actors regarding their casting, but as nothing had been finalized, we have decided to halt these discussions.”

Delusion, based on a webtoon of the same name, is set in the 1935 Japanese occupation era and revolves around a painter commissioned to create a portrait of a mysterious woman. As time reveals the woman’s true identity, a series of mysterious events unfold, enthralling the painter.

Known for directing The Face Reader (2007), The King (2017), and Emergency Declaration (2022), Han Jae Rim was set to direct this highly anticipated work. The film is currently in the scenario planning and development phase, with Showbox and Han Jae Rim’s MAGNUM9 jointly producing. The final format of the project, whether it will be a film or drama, has yet to be decided.

Although Han So Hee was considered for a lead role alongside Ryu Jun Yeol, the talks were ultimately discontinued following their separation. C-JeS Studio, representing Ryu Jun Yeol, confirmed, “It’s important not to cause any damage to the project, so we felt responsible and agreed to the cessation of the review.”

Han So Hee’s agency 9ato Entertainment also confirmed, “‘Delusion’ was one of the projects proposed to Han So Hee, and while she was considering participating, it was in the early stages of casting and was not finalized. She ultimately decided not to join the project.”

Previously, Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol went through quite an ordeal as they began their public relationship. The couple confirmed their relationship on the 16th, just a day after dating rumors surfaced. At this time, Ryu Jun Yeol’s ex-girlfriend, Hyeri, left a cryptic post on her Instagram, which led to speculations of a “transfer relationship (meaning jumping ships).” Ultimately, the couple chose to part ways just two weeks after making their relationship public.
