The entertainment world is abuzz with the news of Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won‘s collaboration. A recent revelation by a Polaris staff member on personal social media—featuring a photo of Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won with the caption “‘Polaris’ first shoot on 3/25″—has spread like wildfire across various online communities.
However, Jun Ji Hyun’s agency clarified to OSEN on the 26th, “We have not received any information related to the shooting.”
Polaris promises a gripping narrative about spies who embark on a journey to rediscover their identities. Known as a spy romance series, it is generating significant anticipation as the reunion project of Little Women writer Jung Seo Kyung and director Kim Hee Won.
Yet, it’s the meeting of Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won that’s garnering the most attention. For Jun Ji Hyun, this marks her first return to the small screen since the 2021 tvN drama Jirisan, while Kang Dong Won is making his dramatic comeback nearly 20 years after his last television role in Magic in 2004.
This century’s most anticipated duo has viewers expressing high hopes. Designer Lee Jung Woo, also known as Jun Ji Hyun’s mother-in-law, also shared her excitement, further fueling the buzz. Last March, Lee Jung Woo shared a screengrab of the casting announcement article, along with the caption “My favorite combo! Finally,” showcasing her evident delight.
As for Polaris, with the powerhouse team of writer Jung Seo Kyung, director Kim Hee Won, and stars Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won, the broadcast schedule remains undecided.
