Song Kang is gearing up for a significant life milestone—mandatory military service. Namoo Actors, his agency, shared on Song Kang’s fan cafe on the 29th that the actor is slated to enlist as an active-duty soldier on April 2nd.
In a statement, Namoo Actors emphasized, “There will be no public event on the day he joins the recruit training center, in an effort to avoid any safety incidents due to potential crowding. We kindly ask for your understanding as the enlistment will be carried out privately.” They further expressed, “We sincerely hope for everyone’s warm love and support so that Song Kang can fulfill his defense duties and return healthier and more mature.”
Song Kang, who made his acting debut with the tvN drama The Liar and His Lover in 2017, has since risen to prominence as a leading actor through his roles in Love Alarm, Sweet Home, and Nevertheless, captivating audiences with his good looks and charm.
His most recent project, My Demon, has been well-received both in Korea and internationally. Fans can look forward to Sweet Home 3, which Song Kang completed filming before his enlistment, set to release within the year.
