Kang Kyung Joon has decided to take legal action, breaking his silence over a month after being embroiled in an adultery scandal. On the 29th, it was revealed that Kang had appointed a lawyer and submitted a power of attorney to the court in response to the allegations of adultery.
Previously, the husband of woman A had filed a lawsuit against Kang Kyung Joon on the 28th of last month, seeking 50 million KRW (approximately 42,000 USD) in damages. If Kang does not appoint a lawyer within 30 days, the verdict will be finalized, which must be why the actor decided to actively initiate legal proceedings.
The lawsuit against Kang was first reported in the media on the 3rd. Kang and A were reportedly acquainted through a property brokerage firm. Kang’s former agency, KStar Global ENT, initially explained there might be a misunderstanding, but the situation escalated with the release of a Telegram chat between Kang and A on the 8th. Following this, the agency ceased extending Kang’s contract.
Kang had remained silent about the allegations for nearly a month. During this time, his wife, actress Jang Shin Young, and their family suffered significantly. The filming of their family on KBS2’s The Return of Superman was halted, and their eldest son’s appearance was heavily edited out of the KBS series Korea-Khitan War.
Jang Shin Young, who became widely known for her remarriage story with Kang, has expressed her distress. According to YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, the actress is currently experiencing emotional distress, and she is being further victimized by fake news from YouTubers who are spreading false rumors solely to attract views.
The husband who sued Kang Kyung Joon stated through the media on the 29th that he has no intention of settling and is determined to go to court. As Kang Kyung Joon faces a serious legal battle, the outcome of these adultery allegations and the fate of his family are drawing keen attention.
