Author Kang Full is set to kick off his second “Kang Full Universe” with the Disney Plus series Shop of the Lamp, following the blockbuster success of his first project, Moving. The series is drawing attention as actor Kim Hee Won takes on the challenge of directing a drama.
Shop of the Lamp is based on Kang Full’s webtoon of the same name, which is the fifth installment in his “mystery psychological thriller” series. The original webtoon has amassed over 150 million views. Following his work on Moving, Kang Full has once again stepped up to write the screenplay for this series. Actor Kim Hee Won, known for his role as Choi Il Hwan in Moving, takes on the director’s role for this series.
The series boasts a solid main and supporting cast lineup including Ju Ji Hoon, Park Bo Young, Bae Sung Woo, Um Tae Goo, Seolhyun, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Min Ha, Park Hyuk Kwon, Kim Dae Myung, Shin Eun Soo, Kim Sun Hwa, and Kim Ki Hae.
The team behind the production shared, “Expect to see a roster of talented actors as mysterious characters surrounding the lamp shop. Look forward to how the unique world and the mysterious atmosphere of ‘Shop of the Lamp’ will be portrayed.”
Meanwhile, Shop of the Lamp is set for an exclusive release on Disney Plus later this year.
