MBC’s The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract has clinched a two-time victory in the ratings competition against its time-slot rival, SBS’s My Demon.

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract tells a contract marriage story between Park Yeon Woo (Lee Se Young), a 19th-century woman who leaps over death to land in South Korea in 2023, and Kang Tae Ha (Bae In Hyuk), a 21st-century man devoid of emotions. The 4th episode, aired on the 2nd, spurred curiosity about the future relationship between the two characters, following a scene where Park Yeon Woo becomes increasingly concerned about Kang Tae Ha after the “unexpected kiss.”

The latest episode recorded a nationwide rating of 6.4%, according to Nielsen Korea. Particularly, a scene featuring Park Yeon Woo and Sa Wol (Joo Hyun Young) reuniting peaked at an impressive 8.4% viewership rating.

Competing in the same time slot, My Demon, starring Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang, recorded a 4% rating on the same day, marking a 0.2-point decrease from the previous episode.

In the 4th episode of My Demon, Do Do Hee (Kim Yoo Jung) and Goo Won (Song Kang) encountered a turning point in their relationship. Despite the growing anticipation for a budding romance between the two, as they gradually come closer while unveiling the truth behind Chun Sook’s (Kim Hae Sook) death, the episode fell short in driving an upward trend in viewership ratings.
