Jang Keun Suk recently opened up about the hurt he experienced due to a betrayal by someone close who colluded with a sasaeng fan.
On November 22nd, the actor shared his meetup with BE’O on his YouTube channel “I Am Jang Keun Suk.” Having met for the first time, Jang Keun Suk and BE’O spent time getting to know each other by reading each other’s profiles.
While discussing their profiles, BE’O cautiously mentioned, “Guys don’t like me too.” It turned out that both shared the experience of being unpopular among male audiences. BE’O expressed his frustration, saying, “The hate is pretty intense. To be honest, I haven’t received much love from hip-hop fans. When I upload my album on music sites, it gets categorized by genre. When my album, which isn’t really hip-hop, gets listed under hip-hop, they go, ‘You? Hip-hop?'”
Jang Keun Suk related to this, expressing, “People in Korea don’t really know that I make music in Japan. In Japan, my music comes out as K-pop. But when the album charts come out in Korea, it’s listed under J-pop. Why do we have to confine genres to just one side? Music doesn’t have boundaries. We make music because we love it.”

Mentioning the stern post he previously shared on his social media account—”I will absolutely reject those fans who follow me excessively”—he brought up a past incident involving a sasaeng fan, “What happened was, in Japan, I had a driver. A sasaeng fan and this driver colluded, and he relayed my location in real-time,” he recalled.
He continued, “I really liked that driver. I even gave him gifts; we were that close. More than being upset at the sasaeng fan, I felt betrayed,” revealing his deep disappointment. Similarly, BE’O shared his experience with sasaengs, “I received calls with the caller ID hidden. When I didn’t answer, I got over a hundred calls. I even had my friend answer it. I tried talking to them calmly, but they threatened me, saying that they’ll expose how I got angry at them. It was very stressful.”
