On a buzzing afternoon of the 19th, the press screening of Dr. Cheon And Lost Talisman took place at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall. Director Kim Sung Sik, along with actors Kang Dong Won, Hun Joon Ho, Esom and more attended to shed light on the highly anticipated film.

Dr. Cheon And Lost Talisman features a faux exorcist, Dr. Cheon (Kang Dong Won), who, despite being a skeptic of ghosts, has uncanny insights. Sparking even more buzz, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo makes a special appearance in the movie as seonyo (a beauty from the sky). Kim Sung Sik couldn’t help but gush, “I immediately thought of Jisoo when considering who could best portray the seonyo. I’ve been a fan since she starred in Snowdrop.” He added, “It was 50% fan’s passion and 50% sheer luck that her schedule aligned with ours,” leaving the room in chuckles.

But the cameo surprises don’t end there. Park Myung Hoon and Lee Jung Eun from Parasite also appear as a wealthy couple. On this note, Kim commented, “This wealthy couple (hire Dr. Cheon for a job), and I was wondering who to cast. Then I thought it’d be nice if the ‘underground-dwelling’ characters from Parasite would be happy. So, I got Director Bong’s blessing and went for it.”

When asked whether he received any advice from famed directors like Bong Joon Ho or Park Chan Wook, Kim candidly spilled, “I mostly talk soccer with Bong Joon Ho. We’re both pretty worried about Tottenham these days.” He added, “As for Park Chan Wook, he simply told me to ‘do a good job.'”

Reflecting on his experience of directing a megastar like Kang Dong Won in his debut film, Kim shared, “I feel like I should’ve captured Kang Dong Won’s essence even better. My prowess just wasn’t big enough for that. I hope there are more opportunities to work with him in the future.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Cheon And Lost Talisman is set to hit theaters on the 27th.
