Song Ji Hyo has responded to the settlement issue with her former agency UZUROCKS.

On September 14th, it was reported that the prosecution dropped fraud charges against UZUROCKS’ former CEO for not paying their talents and employees. However, Song Ji Hyo’s legal representative clarified, “Song Ji Hyo has never filed a lawsuit against UZUROCKS for fraud. It was filed for embezzlement, and the investigation is still ongoing. Therefore, it is not true that the CEO got cleared of his charges as the police are still looking into the case.”

On the same day, a media outlet reported that UZUROCKS is currently on the brink of going out of business. According to the reports, the company’s water and electricity have been cut off due to overdue bills. Furthermore, the company is at risk of vacating its office in Sinsa-dong upon the building owner’s request. If the agency were to go out of business, the talents who signed with the agency would not be able to receive their promised paychecks.

Regarding this, Song Ji Hyo’s legal advisor claimed, “Nothing has been confirmed about UZUROCKS’ possible shutdown or bankruptcy proceedings,” and added, “Given that the payment will be sourced from what’s left in the company’s assets, having fewer assets makes it more likely that they won’t have enough money to pay off the unpaid settlement.”
