Nominees for the 2023 Asia Contents Awards and Global OTT Awards Announced

The nominees for the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards in 10 competitive categories have been announced.

The ACA & G.OTT Awards, set to take place on October 8th at the Busan International Film Festival Theater in the Busan Cinema Center, celebrates excellence in TV, streaming service, and online content worldwide. With an expanded reach from Asia to the world, this event has become highly anticipated.

This year, there were over 215 submissions from 18 countries, reflecting the growing influence of global streaming service platforms like Netflix and Disney Plus. The awards feature 10 competitive categories, including Best Creative, Best Lead Actor and Actress, and Best Reality and Variety, along with 7 non-competitive categories.

Below are the nominees for each category.

Program Categories

Best Creative: The Glory, Little Women, Moving, Special Ops: Lioness, and The Long Season

Best OTT Original: Get Rich, The Knock Out, Shadow Detective, Wave Makers, and Weak Hero Class 1

Best Asian TV Series: The Black Yard, Delete, Not Others, Scoop, and Taiwan Crime Stories.

Best Reality and Variety: Bloody Game 2, Food Chronicle, One at Heart, Jessica Soho: Wounds of Woes, Let’s Feast Vietnam, Our Game: LG Twins, Physical: 100, and SNL Korea Season 3 and 4

Acting Categories

Best Lead Actor: Arjo Atayde (Cattleya Killer), Fan Wei (The Long Season), Nat Kitcharit (Delete), Ryu Seung Ryong (Moving), Takeru Satoh (First Love), and Yuya Yagira (Gannibal)

Best Lead Actress: Emily Chan (The Patient), Karishma Tanna (Scoop), Rebecca Lim (Third Rail), Song Hye Kyo (The Glory), and Zoe Saldana (Special Ops: Lioness)

Best Supporting Actor: Hsueh Shih-Ling (Taiwan Crime Stories), Jo Woo Jin (Narco-Saints), Nichkhun Horvejkul (Finding the Rainbow), and Sometani Shota (Sanctuary)

Best Supporting Actress: Buffy Chen (Wave Makers), Charlette Wasita Hermenau (Delete), Kyung Soo Jin (Shadow Detective), Kutsuna Shioli (Sanctuary), and Lim Ji Yeon (The Glory)

Best Newcomer Actor: Lee Jung Ha (Moving), Park Ji Hoon (Weak Hero Class 1), Prudtichai Ruayfupant M (Nobody’s Happy If I’m Not), and Wen JunHui (Exclusive Fairy Tale)

Best Newcomer Actress: Go Youn Jung (Moving), Li GengXi (The Long Season), Phantira Pipityakorn (Get Rich), and Rikako Yagi (First Love)

The members of the jury have commented, “In the process of narrowing down the field from over 200 submissions to around 30 finalists, it was challenging to exclude many outstanding works. This year, the influence of global streaming service platforms like Netflix and Disney Plus remained significant. We made careful efforts in the judging process to maintain a balance with the remarkable local contents from various Asian countries.”

The 2023 Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards has announced its impressive lineup of nominees, building excitement for the upcoming ceremony on October 8th at 18:00 KST at the Busan Cinema Center.
