Song Joong Ki’s ‘Hopeless,’ Nam Joo Hyuk’s ‘Vigilante’ and More to Premiere at the 28th Busan International Film Festival

The 28th Busan International Film Festival unveiled the selections for the Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere and On Screen sections.

Three films are set to premiere in the Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere section, showcasing the latest South Korean cinematic creations. Believer 2, a sequel to a 2018 action thriller, featuring Cho Jin Woong, Cha Seung Won, Han Hyo Joo, and Oh Seung Hoon, will captivate audiences once again with its intense storyline and dynamic performances.

Ballerina, starring Jeon Jong Seo, is a revenge drama that follows a former bodyguard seeking vengeance for a close friend.

Song Joong Ki’s Hopeless is set to have an Asian premiere at this year’s festival.

The On Screen section will feature a total of six highly-anticipated online streaming series from Korea and Indonesia.

The Deal tells the story of two young men who accidentally kidnap their classmate. Yoo Seung Ho, Kim Dong Hwi, Yoo Soo Bin, and Lee Joo Young star in the show.

I AM A RUNNING MATE follows an ordinary student participating in a student council election as a class president candidate. The film marks the directorial debut of Parasite writer Han Jin Won.

A Bloody Lucky Day follows an ordinary taxi driver who gets an enticing yet suspicious offer from a mysterious passenger. But things take a dark turn as he realizes that his passenger is a serial killer on the loose.

LTNS is a comedy movie about a married couple who haven’t enjoyed their sex life for a long time. The story takes place as they start making money by blackmailing couples who are having extramarital affairs. While doing so, they look back on their own broken marriage.

Vigilante revolves around an exemplary police academy student who upholds the law during the day but takes matters into his own hands to punish the wicked at night. Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, Lee Jun Hyuk, and Kim So Jin star in the show.

Set in Indonesia during the 1960s, Cigarette Girl presents a mysterious story about a legendary cigarette.

The 28th Busan International Film Festival will take place from October 4th to 13th.
