Concrete Utopia shared glimpses of the unique on-screen chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Young.
Concrete Utopia is a disaster film narrating a tale that unfolds in Seoul, which has become a ruin due to a massive earthquake, with survivors gathering in the only remaining structure, the Hwanggung Apartment. Park Seo Joon, portraying Min Sung, who struggles to protect his family, and Park Bo Young, playing the role of Myung Hwa, determined not to lose her beliefs, enrich the narrative by portraying a couple grappling to protect each other amidst the extreme disaster.
In particular, their gripping emotional performances paint a picture of a real-life couple, ranging from heartwarming family moments when life hangs in the balance to precarious moments as they face various choices in an increasingly harsh reality.
The previously released trailer has already given viewers a glimpse of the sizzling chemistry between the two actors, eliciting hot responses like, “Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Young’s chemistry seems top-notch,” and “Can’t wait to see them as a couple in the movie.”
Further fueling the anticipation, Park Seo Joon expressed his thoughts on their first acting encounter, “It was such a pleasant experience that I’d like to work with her again in other projects if given a chance.” Meanwhile, Park Bo Young commented, “I felt that Park Seo Joon was 100% Min Sung.”
Invited to the Gala Presentation section of the 48th Toronto International Film Festival, Concrete Utopia continues to heighten expectations. The movie will hit theaters on August 9th.
