A recent Instagram post by Dior Beauty has sparked displeasure among some fans of BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and national figure skating icon Yuna Kim.
Yesterday, Dior Beauty shared a series of photos from a pop-up store event held in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. The series featured prominent celebrities like Kim Yuna, Jisoo, Lee Junho, NewJeans’ Haerin, and Jung Hae In. Dior Beauty chose to upload a picture of Yuna Kim first, with Jisoo following on the second slide.
However, this upload order irked Jisoo’s fans. They argued that it was inappropriate for Jisoo, a global ambassador for the brand, to have her picture posted after Kim Yuna. Her overseas fans were particularly vocal, with comments such as “Why is the global ambassador in the second slide?” and “Show some respect to the global ambassador.”
But it’s noteworthy that Yuna Kim is Korea’s first Dior global ambassador. Her fans were quick to point out her global influence as well, leaving comments like “Queen Yuna is also an influential ambassador” in her defense. Some observers suggested that Jisoo’s fans might have overreacted to the situation.
Amidst this growing tension between Jisoo and Yuna Kim fans, Dior Beauty posted three consecutive photos and clips of Jisoo, seemingly to quell the controversy.
